Battlestar Galactica

Still going on my Galactica discs. Slowly but surely inching my way through the first season. Those pesky cylons are just ain't what they used to be. Even when they are the big tin cans with the beady red eye they still don't make with the "By your command" shit. Damn, I miss that. There are a lot of things I miss about the original series, even though this re-imagining is probably better made. Gone is the snivelling cretinuous and damned ugly Baltar only to be replaced by the snivelling, cretinuous, highly attractive and pumped Dr. Gaius Baltar. Gone is Ben Cartwright as Commander Adama, only to be replaced by Lt. Castillo as Adama. Out are the manly antics of cigar chompin' Starbuck, in are the womanly antics of cigar chompin' Starbuck. And what, no Muffit? Shame Galactica Shame? My favorite part of this new show? Hmm, a few things to choose from: Boomer, No. 6, Starbuck? In all honesty, and I hate to say it, as the writing and acting is top drawer, my giddy inner self just plain loves the battle sequences - these are some of the best I've since, since well damnit, the original Star Wars movies - devised by the chaps who made Serenity fly, I feel like I'm playing Space Invaders, and man, does it bring back good memories.
