Lost Extras
Rented all the Lost discs just so I could watch the extras - Shirley, you don't think I'm gonna fork over $80 just to watch some auditions 'n' shit? A quick glance reveals some nice pictorial and aural qualities on the episodes themselves. The commentaries range from funny and informative (the pilot with JJ, Damon and Bryan Burk, where JJ keeps stopping the tape to disgress), funny (Damon and Bryan again plus Merry), informative (Jack Bender, The Fury and Terry O'Quinn doing a good job despite the fact he's in hawaii) to plain boring (Carlton Cuse and Javier Grillo-Marxauch do ok but Maggie Grace and Ian Sommerhalder do a shitfull job of not hiding the fact they're on the phone from hawaii). The final disc contains all the other extras and it does a good job of covering all bases (interviews, behind the scenes, panel discussion so the funny, decent deleted scenes for once, decent bloopers for once) without getting a little too much like some of these sets can get (or on the other hand they have no extras at all, you fools) - so it's kinda annoying that the Aussie discs dropped several featurettes and some audition footage.
