Star Wars: Clone Wars Vol. 1 (DVD Review)

this was supposed to be good. all signs pointed to quality. so why was i disappointed. maybe i'm just sick of star wars full stop. maybe i wish for the days of the original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. there's been a lot of bantha poodoo under the bridge since then. the ranch and its "product" takes itself far too seriously these days, and their "product" is far too sanitised, and so lacking in character and individuality that it's really sad, coz that's what made it soooo special all those years ago. this cartoon is a fun diversion. made by the fella that made Samurai Jack, it's made in a similar 2D fashion and has some reasonably exciting battle scenes and the like. but it's also vapid and frightfully dull. i'll pass on Volume 2 thanks. there's much more "product" to be had that's more worthwhile than this. It's an hour long. It looks good and sounds ok (no 5.1). I didn't bother with the extras.
