Sun, sun and more sun. When will it end? I was told today that the best time of the year to come to Vanuata is August. It's considerably cooler, but the water is still warm enough to swim in.
Went on a luverly harbor tour this morning on a small glass bottomed boat (although because we were borrowing the boat for a non-glass bottomed boat tour because our boat's motor was broken we were not allowed to see the 'bottom' so to speak). Went up top and took many piccies, some of which I'll post when I get back. The guide was very friendly and told us about some of the history of Port Vila, the name change from New Hebredies to Vanuata, some of the resorts and types of boats and most importantly, who owned all the rich, luxurious mansions on the waterfront. Some of these palaces were massive, and put many Hollywood type places to shame.
Still having trouble dealing with the heat, the air con has been going, the door has been open and the pool very inviting. Must get down to the pool and have a seabreeze.
Still haven't really done anything yet, hoping to go to Cascade Falls in next couple of days. Like to get out a Kayak mebbe?
Been rcoking through reading Year of Living Dangerously and really enjoying it. Have to watch the film sometime.
